Set Up DX513 ToolsandPartsforHardDiskInstallation • Ascrewdriver • Atleastone3.5”or2.5”SATAharddisk (Pleasevisitwww.synology.comforcompatibleharddiskmodels.) Warning:Ifyouinstallaharddiskthatcontainsdata,systemwillformatthehard diskanderasealldata.Ifyouneedthedatainthefuture,pleasebackitupbefore installation. InstallHardDisks 1 Pressthelowerpartoftheharddrivetraytopopoutthehandle. 2 Pulltheharddrivetrayhandleinthedirectionasindicatedbelowtoremove theharddrivetray. - Page 12 3 Loadtheharddiskintheharddrivetray. • For 3.5” Hard Disk: Removethefasteningpanelsfromthesidesofthe harddrivetray.Placetheharddiskintheharddrivetray.Theninsertthe fasteningpanelstosecuretheharddiskinplace. • For 2.5” Hard Disk: Removethefasteningpanelsfromthesidesofthe harddrivetray.Placetheharddiskinthebluearea(shownbelow)ofthe harddrivetray,turnthetrayupsidedown,andthentightenthescrewsto securetheharddisk. 4 Inserttheloadedharddrivetrayintotheemptyharddrivebay.
