Problem
Monitor is blank
Monitor is hard to read/has
darkened
Camera turns off without
warning
Cause/Solution
• Camera is off.
• Battery is exhausted.
• Standby mode for saving power: press the
shutter-release button halfway.
• Camera and computer are connected via the
USB cable.
• Camera and TV are connected via audio/video
cable or HDMI cable.
• When connecting to an electrical outlet using
a Charging AC Adapter, the camera cannot be
turned on.
• Adjust monitor brightness.
• When the internal temperature of the camera
is high, the monitor darkens to reduce heat
generation. When internal temperature cools,
the monitor brightens again.
• When the power-on lamp is covered after the
camera has automatically increased monitor
brightness, the monitor may darken.
• Monitor is dirty. Clean monitor.
• Battery is exhausted.
• If connecting the Charging AC Adapter while
the camera is on, the camera is turned off.
• The USB cable connecting the camera to the
computer or printer has been disconnected.
Reconnect the USB cable.
• The internal temperature of the camera or the
memory card is high. Allow the camera and
memory card to cool and turn on the camera
again.
• The camera and battery may not work
properly at low temperatures.
