used to determine exactly the battery condi-
tion. During normal operation, the indicator can
show the following:
1) Green color (totally or partially): battery rea-
dy. Occasionally the green color may remain al-
so after repeated starting attempts which may
cause the need for battery recharging.
2) Black color, without any appearance of
green; if this happens together with difficulties
of engine starting, the battery must be inspec-
ted by an Authorized Service. Also the charging
system of the vehicle must be inspected.
3) Yellow color very rarerly the indicator could
turn yellow: in this case don't try to re-charge
the battery, nor try to connect an auxiliary bat-
tery, but inspect the charging system of the ve-
hicle. If the system is efficient, but engine star-
ting remains difficult, the battery must be repla-
ced.
Note - The ground battery cable can be inter-
rupted by connector B (Fig. 82).
Battery should be disconnected in case of
long inactivity.

Clean carefully commutator, check brushes for
wear and replace them, if necessary, seating
the new brushes on commutator.
Clean and grease with MOLIKOTE BR 2 the heli-
cal splined shaft, the bushes seats on the shaft
and the disc of the drive unit sleeve.

un idrometro che fornisce una dia-
gnosi non vincolante ma indicativa sullo stato
generale della batteria; per tanto non deve es-
sere usato per determinare se la batteria
e

no. Durante il normale funzionamento I'in-
dicatore ottico pUG essere nelle seguenti con-
dizioni:
1) Colore verde visibile (anche solo parzial-
mente) indica batteria pronta. Occasionalmen-
te il colore verde pUG rimanere anche dopo pro-
lungati avviamenti tali da scaricare la batteria al
punto da richiedere una carica.
2) Colore nero, senza parvenza di verde, se as-
sieme a questa indicazione, vi sono anche diffi-
colta di avviamento, occorre far controllare la
batteria da un Servizio Autorizzato. Verificare
anche iI sistema di carica della vettura.
Colore giallo, raramente I'indicatore diventa
giallo; se ciG avviene non caricare, non provare,
ne intervenire con una batteria ausiliaria, ma
controllare il sistema di carica della vettura. Se
esso

efficiente e se si dovessero ripetere diffi-
colta di avviamento occorre sostituire la batte-

ria.
Note - II cavo di massa della batteria pUG
essere interrotto mediante apposito con net-
tore B (Fig. 82).

Pulire accuratamente il collettore verificare 10
stato di usura e di contatto delle spazzole e se
necessario sostituirle adattandole al diametro
del collettore.
Pulire e ingrassare con MOLIKOTE BR 2 10 sca-
nalato elicoidale, Ie sedi boccole sull'alberino e
il disco del manicotto d'innesto.
