TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE
WARNING: Shock hazard. Cover to be removed only by
qualified service personnel. There are no user-service
able parts inside.
If a problem persists, contact qualified service personnel or
Nellcor's representative. The service manual, which is for use
by qualified service personnel, provides additional
troubleshooting information.
1. There is no response to the measure button.
The battery access door may not be properly attached.
The batteries may be discharged or oriented
incorrectly.
2.
One or more display segments do not light during
the self-test.
Do not use the N-20/N-20P; contact qualified service
personnel or Nellcor's representative.
3. The PULSE SEARCH indicator is displayed for more
than 10 seconds.
Check the sensor directions for use to determine if
appropriate sensor is being used and if it is applied
properly. Check sensor and extension cable
connections. Test the sensor on someone else. Try
another sensor or extension cable.
Perfusion may be too low for the N-20/N-20P to track
the pulse. Check the patient. Test the instrument on
someone else. Change the sensor site. Try another type
of sensor.
