Installation Requirements

Installation Sites
Always comply with the valid national regulations for installation sites and electrical connections.
The ventilation of the installation site must be appropriate for the unit output. Inadequate ventilation of the
unit will result in over-heating and damage. Always make certain that no air intake or discharge vents are
covered or blocked.
Keep a minimum distance of the ventilation grids to e.g. walls of 10 cm.
Upon installation it must be considered that the unit discharges approx. 500 watts / hr. heat and requires a
minimum airflow of approx. ~100 m3 per hour.
The max. ambient temperature at the place of installation must not exceed 32°C.
Water Connection
The dynamic (flowing) water pressure must be minimum 1 bar and must not exceed 5 bar. In case the
maximum pressure of 5 bar cannot be ensured, install a suitable water pressure reducer (PN 22-0096-965)
in the mains water line feeding the unit.
Although the PM4 unit is equipped with an electronic AquaStopp sensor, it is recommended to
close the water supply to the unit during weekends and longer periods of no dispense (e.g.
summer breaks).
The water tube feeding the unit can additionally be protected against a larger water leak by
installing on the incoming water line a mechanical AquaStopp (Article no. 22-0100-474S001). If
installed, please check it for proper function during installation and each service. A setting of 3-4
on the AquaStopp (equals 15-20 litres of max. continuous water flow) will be sufficient. In certain
cases of higher water consumptions a higher setting may be required.
Electrical Connection
A 230 volt power outlet with an earthing contact with a max. protection of 16 amps is required.
The mains voltage must always be within the tolerances of 230 volt (AC) +6% / -10% at 50 Hz.
The maximum power consumption of the unit is approx. 250 watts. Please make sure that you always have
access to the mains power plug.

Getting started & Sanitation
The installation and sanitation of the water dispenser must be done by an authorized service
technician !
In any case the unit must be cleaned and sanitized upon installation !
Drinking water is a very sensitive food and only the properly done installation & sanitation ensures a
hygienically safe operation of the unit !
On commercial usage all components that come into food (water) contact, must be sanitized in a regular
frequency. The required service frequency may vary from country to country. Please refer to your local
service technician for support.
Cornelius recommends a max. cleaning interval of 6 months. Depending on local requirements and
customers specification a shorter interval of e.g. 3 months may be required.
All cleaning procedures are to be documented in the form sheet at the end of this manual and the
documentation is to be kept with the unit.
