Make sure ground is level and
firm and park motorcycle.
Loosen quick-release axle
nut 1.

Loosen lock nuts 2 on left and
right by turning counterclock-
wise.
Adjust chain tension with ad-
justing screws 3 on left and
right.
Turning clockwise: chain ten-
sion is reduced.
Turning counterclockwise:
chain tension is increased.
Checking chain tension (
Make sure that the same scale
value 4 is set on the left and
right.
Tighten lock nuts 2 on left and
right by turning clockwise.
Locknut of drive-chain
tensioning screw
18 lb/ft (25 Nm)
Tighten quick-release axle
nut 1 with specified torque.
Nut on rear quick-release
axle
59 lb/ft (80 Nm)

Checking chain wear

Make sure ground is level and
firm and park motorcycle.
