16. Sleep Mode Operation
a. Verify the amp enters sleep mode when driven with sine-wave input signal
less than –70dBV.
b. Verify the amp exits sleep mode when driven with sine-wave input signal
greater than –60dBV.
17. Compressor Operation
a. Verify the compressor actively reduces gain with less than 5% THD+N for
any input signal over 5Vrms.
b. Verify the compressor actively reduces gain with less than 5% THD+N
when the amp is driven with enough input level to otherwise clip the
output stage by more than 3dB but less than 6dB.
18. Slew Rate
a. Verify the large signal amplifier output slew rate is > 14V/uS as measured
from 20% to 80% of peak output voltage using a 10kHz or equivalent
square wave into an 8ohm load.
19. Cross talk
a. Verify cross talk less than –60dB with pink noise or any sine frequency up
to 10kHz while driving 4-8ohm load 12dB below midband frequency into
4-8ohms.
20. High/Low Line Operation
a. Verify amp operates within range of +10 to –25% of nominal line
21. Safety Ground
a. Verify the resistance between amplifier chassis and ground connection of
power cord (or IEC inlet if no cord) is intact and measures 0.1ohm or less.
b. This test must be performed on every amplifier before shipment per
UL6500, Annex N, or factory audit file.
22. Hi-Pot
a. Verify the amplifier dielectric for rated mains voltage as shown in table.
