After the original set sensor has detected an original and the machine has got a copying or scanning job,
the ADF motor rotates to pick up and feed a sheet of the original to the feed sensor. If the feed sensor does
not detect paper after this sequence, the machine determines an original jam has occurred.
The ADF motor stops when the feed sensor detects paper, and then starts to rotate again. After scanning,
the ADF motor stops again, and then starts to rotate to feed out the paper.
