8.3 CLEANING THE PAPER PULL-IN ROLLERS (PAPER PICK-UP
ROLLERS) (FOR DUPLEX PRINT MODELS)
Duplex printing may stain the paper pull-in rollers (paper pick-up rollers), affecting the paper
feeding performance. If it happens, first wipe off the rollers with a cloth using the procedure given
in Section 8.3.1. If stains persist, perform the cleaning operation with the cleaning kit using the
procedure in Section

8.3.1 Wiping off with a cloth

(1) Unplug the power cord from the AC power outlet.
(2) Pull out both the DX paper trays #1 and #2.
(3) Open the outer back cover at the back of the machine.
The inner back cover also opens.
(4) Moisten a soft, lint-free cloth with water. Thoroughly wring the cloth before using.
(5) While turning either one of the rollers slowly with one hand, clean the other roller with the
cloth from side to side. This way, clean both rollers.
(6) Use a dry, soft, lint free cloth to dry the rollers, from side to side. Slowly turn the rollers so
that the whole surface is completely dried.
(7) Close the inner and outer back covers.
Make sure the outer back cover is closed properly.
(8) Put the paper trays back in the machine.
(9) Plug the power cord into an AC power outlet.
Do not use the machine until the rollers are completely dried.
