WARNING! Do not mix old and new batteries. Always replace both batteries at the
same time.
PROHIBITED! Keep tools and other metal objects away from the battery terminals.
Contact with tools can cause electrical shock.
You may need the following to change your batteries:
metric/standard socket set and ratchet
adjustable spanner
To replace the batteries:
1. Turn off the power to the controller.
2. Ensure the power chair is in drive mode.
3. Remove the battery securement hardware using a spanner and hex key.
4. Slide the battery tray back. See figure 31.
5. Disconnect the battery harness.
6. Unfasten the battery strap.
7. Lift the battery box out of the power base.
8. Install the new batteries into the battery box. See figure 31.
9. Reinstall the battery box into the battery tray.
10. Reconnect the battery harness.
11. Slide the battery tray back into place and reinstall the battery securement hardware. See figure 31.
WARNING! Make sure you tighten the fasteners so that the connections are secure.
12. Charge the batteries. See V. "Batteries and Charging."
