❚❚ Advanced Movie Options
In v (advanced movie) mode, the fol-
lowing options can be accessed by press-
ing & (feature) and selecting Advanced
movie in the & menu.
0 HD movie
y Slow motion
1 Fast motion
2 Jump cut
3 4-second movie

Slow Motion
When slow motion is selected in advanced movie mode, the camera
can be focused by pressing the shutter-release button halfway before
recording begins. The camera focuses on the subject at the center of
the display; face detection (0 34) is not available. Focus and exposure
can not be adjusted during recording.
Record high-definition (HD) movies.
Record up to about three seconds of silent slow-
motion footage. Slow-motion movies are recorded at
400 fps and play back at about 30 fps.

Record silent fast-motion footage that plays back at
about four times normal speed. Playback time is one
quarter the recording time.

Record silent jump-cut movies. Recording pauses
every other second for a drop-frame effect.

Record a 4-second movie clip. Multiple clips can be
joined into a single movie using the Combine 4-sec-
ond movies option in the playback menu (0 98).
