Troubleshooting
◆ Troubleshooting
Refer to the chart below when this projector does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below or if the
instructions do not help, stop using the projector and contact your dealer.
No image appears on the screen.
Problem

Solution
• Check whether the indicators are on or off and how they are lightning.

• Check that the lens cap is removed.
• It may take about one minute for the lamp to light up.
• The lamp fails to light up on rare occasions. In such cases, wait for a few minutes and then try again.
• If the projector was turned off before the lamp cooled down completely, the fans may start rotating and the
STANDBY/ON button may not function when you plug the power cable into the wall outlet next time.
Wait for the fans to stop and press the STANDBY/ON button to turn on the lamp again.
• Check that the intake vent is clean.
• Check that the lamp cover is closed (see page 33).
• Check that the cables connected to the external equipments are not broken.
• If an extension cable is being used, replace it with the supplied cable for troubleshooting purposes. If
images are now displayed correctly, add an RGB signal amplifier to the extension cable.
• The air intake or exhaust vent may be blocked. In such cases, the STATUS indicator blinks orange. After
removing the objects blocking the intake vent and/or exhaust vents and then carry out the following
procedure:
1. Wait for the air intake or exhaust fan to stop (or wait for the STATUS indicator to go out.)
2. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
3. Wait about 10 minutes.
4. Plug the power cable into the wall outlet.
5. Press the STANDBY/ON button.
6. When the STATUS indicator is steady red, it is indicating that the lamp should be replaced.
Replace the lamp with a new, commercially available lamp.

Solution
• Connect the power cable to the projector.
• Plug the power cable into a wall outlet.
• If any objects are blocking the air intake or exhaust vent, remove them and carry out the
following.
1. Unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.
2. Make sure that the projector has cooled off.
3. Plug the power cable into the wall outlet.
4. Press the STANDBY/ON button.
• If any objects are blocking the air intake or exhaust vent, remove them.
• Don't expose the air exhaust vents to hot air emitted from a heating appliance.
• Clean the ventilation grilles.
• Relocate the projector to a cooler place.
• After the STATUS indicator stops blinking, press the
