Many malfunctions and faults that can occur in daily operation can be easily
remedied. You can save time and money in many cases, as you do not need to call
the Miele Customer Service Department.
Information to help you rectify faults yourself can be found at www.miele.com/ser-
vice.
The following tables are designed to help you to find the cause of a malfunction or a
fault and to resolve it.

The display indicates the following messages or faults

Message
Drum empty or the
laundry is too dry.
lights up after a
programme has
been cancelled.
Power outage. Pro-
gramme stopped
 Finish / Cooling down
lights up and the drying
process is not yet fin-
ished.
Open bottom right
grille, clean heat ex-
lights up
changer
at the end of a
programme.
Cause and remedy
This is not a fault.
In some programmes, if the drum has been under-
loaded or is empty, the programme will be cancelled.
This can also happen if the items are already dry.
 Open the door and check the laundry.
 Add items if necessary.
 Close the door to resume drying.
Dry individual items using the Warm air programme.
There has been a power outage.
 When power is restored, confirm with
 Touch the Start/Stop sensor control.
This is not a fault. The laundry is still being cooled.
The programme is just about to end.
 You can remove the laundry and spread it out to
cool down or leave it in the tumble dryer to cool
down until the end of the programme.
The heat exchanger's cooling fins behind the grille
can become blocked with dust and dirt drawn in from
the surrounding area and the airways can become
blocked with fluff.
 Clean as described in "Bottom right grille/heat ex-
changer" under "Cleaning and care".
 Check and clean the filters in the loading area and
in the plinth.
 To delete the message: touch the
trol.
