Installation: Installation Requirements
The ApexPro Telemetry Server should be isolated from strong electromagnetic
fields and electrical noise produced by electrical devices such as:
Elevators
Copy machines
Air conditioners, large fans
Large electric motors
Radio and TV transmitters
High frequency security devices
High-load medical devices (e.g. imaging, defibrillators, etc.)

SHOCK HAZARD — This equipment must not be located in the
patient vicinity as a shock hazard may exist, unless the medical
electrical system standard, IEC 60950 is followed. The ApexPro
Telemetry Server is UL 60950/IEC 60950 certified equipment
which may not meet the leakage requirements of patient care area
equipment. Electrical shock could result from not following this
instruction.
EQUIPMENT FAILURE — Provide adequate cooling ventilation
for the ApexPro Telemetry Server. Failure to adequately ventilate
the ApexPro Telemetry Server may cause equipment failure or
improper operating conditions which may endanger the patients
being monitored.
GE Medical Systems Information Technologies requires the use of a UPS device
with the ApexPro Telemetry Server, otherwise, improper shut down of the unit
could result from a power outage.
Connect only the ApexPro Telemetry Server power cord to the UPS. Do NOT
connect any other devices to the UPS. Connecting other devices may shorten UPS
run times.
A properly grounded duplex wall receptacle should be provided for the UPS. The
wall receptacle must be installed in an approved junction box. Use only a 3-prong,
polarized, medical-grade wall receptacle to accept the UPS 3-prong polarized power
cord plug.
Receptacle wiring must satisfy all applicable IEC and UL specifications, applicable
building codes, and local electrical inspection regulations. For international wall
receptacles, wiring must comply with all internal standards agencies within the
specific country. The overall system AC current load on the branch circuit supplying
power to the UPS must not exceed 80% of the AC current rating for the circuit.
