Maintenance: Electrical Safety Tests
Electrical safety tests provide a method of determining if potential electrical health
hazards to the operator of the device exist.
These tests apply to the server, all peripherals, and their three-prong plugs.

EQUIPMENT FAILURE/HEALTH HAZARD — Unless you
have an Equipment Maintenance Contract, GE Medical Systems
Information Technologies does not in any manner assume the
responsibility for performing the recommended maintenance
procedures. The sole responsibility rests with the individual or
institution using the equipment. Information Technologies service
personnel may, at their discretion, follow the procedures provided
in this manual as a guide during visits to the equipment site.
Failure to implement a satisfactory maintenance schedule may
cause undue equipment failure and possible health hazards.
To help you establish a systematic maintenance routine, GE Medical Systems
Information Technologies recommends that you perform all safety tests presented in
this chapter:
Upon receipt of the device,
Every twelve months thereafter,
Each time the main enclosure is disassembled or a circuit board is removed,
tested, repaired, or replaced, and
Record the date and results on the

temperature, humidity, and pressure.
