    If using this DVD player to play back a DVD in a Dolby Digital 5.1 channel surround or DTS surround format, the DVD player outputs a Dolby Digital or DTS data stream from its OPTICAL or COAXIAL DIGITAL OUT jacks.

    CONNECTIONS Connection to 5.1-channel Surround Sound System Analog 5.1-channel audio signals can be output from the DVD player. The multichannel audio signals recorded in packed PCM can be played back when an AV amplifier equipped with analog 5.1-channel audio inputs is connected.

    CONNECTIONS Connection to a TV with an HDMI Terminal A simple 1-cable connection (using a commercially available cable) with a device having an HDMI (High- Definition Multimedia Interface) terminal allows digital transfer of the digital images of DVD-Video and other sources, DVD-Video, and the multi-channel sound of DVD-Audio.

    • A “prohibited icon” may appear at the top- right on the TV screen during operation, warning that a prohibited operation has been done to the DVD player or the disc. • With DVDs that use some titles for play- back program signals, playback may start from the second title, or it may skip these titles.

    PLAYING A DISC Track Search Super DVD-A Audio CD JPEG There are three ways to begin playback on a disc at a specific track. BY USING THE SEARCH MODE BUTTON Press the SEARCH MODE button. • The Track Search display appears.

    Super Audio CD When a CD-R or CD-RW disc with MP3, JPEG or WMA files PROGRAM is inserted in the DVD player and the MENU button is CD-DA TOTAL 0:03:30 pressed, the FILE LIST will appear on the display. The num- ber of tracks is also displayed on the front panel.

    • Select 16:9 SQUEEZE if a wide-screen TV is connected to the DVD player and you want to maintain the original source aspect of 4:3. However, when playing back discs recorded on 16:9, images will be output as 16:9 WIDE.

    DVD SETUP • The sound of DVD-Audio which exceeds 96kHz(or 88.2kHz) will be output as 96kHz (or 88.2kHz) even if DOWN SAMPLING is set to OFF. When playing disc with copyright protection • The sound will be down-sampled at 48kHz (or 44.1kHz), even if you set to OFF.
