Frequently asked Questions
axion.ca
Q. Why do recordings sometimes miss the beginning of a program?
A. The PVR time switch is synchronized with the show schedule. For instance, if a broadcaster starts a show one minute earlier
than scheduled, the PVR will miss that first minute. You can set your PVR to start sooner or end recordings later by adjusting
recording options.
Q. Only part of my program is recorded.
A. If the beginning of the program is missing, you might have tuned to the program after it started and then set it to record. If
the end of the program did not record, the PVR may have reached its storage capacity limit before it was able to record the
entire program.
Q. Do parental controls work with PVR?
A. Yes. Parental controls also restrict viewing of recorded programs. If you schedule a recording for a program you have locked,
the program will be recorded; however, audio is mute and no video will appear while the program is recording. A restricted
notice remains on screen allowing you to enter your PIN to view the program during the recording. Once the program has been
recorded, you can access it from My recordings. Just enter your PIN to view.
GUIDE TIP: You can also set parental controls on recorded programs. Use the Lock button on your remote, or the lock icon
from My recordings or from a recorded program information screen.
Q. The words "PVR deactivated" appear when I try to access my recordings or rewind live TV.
A. You might have plugged the terminal in a non-polarized outlet, in a very warm environment or near a strong magnetic field.
Unplug the terminal for 5 minutes, plug it back again and wait 10 to 15 minutes. If the same message appears, contact our
technical support.
Q. How will I know when I'm almost out of recording space?
A. An on-screen notice will appear advising you when recording space is low (80% full) or full.
GUIDE TIP: If you are recording a program and run out of recording space, the recording will stop. You can see how much
recording space is available at all times from My recordings. You can also manually delete recordings or set your PVR to
automatically delete recorded programs when space is needed.
Q. How long can I pause live TV?
A. You can pause up to 90 minutes of standard programming; less with HD programming.
Q. How far back can I rewind live TV?
A. You can rewind up to two hours of standard TV programming, as long as you were tuned to the same channel.
Q. How do I use instant replay?
A. If your remote control is equipped with a REPLAY button, press it to instantly replay the last 15 seconds of the program. If
there is no REPLAY button, use the PAGE button on your remote.
Q. Can I record a program I am watching from the beginning?
A. Yes, but only if you tuned to the program from the beginning.
Q. How do I get back to current programs after pausing live TV?
A. Press the LIVE button on your remote.
Q. What happens to my PVR recordings if my terminal temporarily loses power?
A. All recordings that were saved prior to the power loss are preserved, as well as future recording schedules. Recordings in
progress while the power was out should be the only ones missing.
Note: If you experience continued problems with your terminal, remote control or interactive guide, please contact us.
