15 ° Slope
Tocheck the slope, proceed as follows:
1. Removethis page and fold along the dashed line.
2. Locate a vertical object on or behindthe slope (e.g.a pole,
building,fence, tree, etc.)
3. Align either side of the slope gaugewith the object (See Figure
1 and Figure2 ).
4. Adjustgauge up or down until the left corner touchesthe slope
(See Figure 1 and Figure2).
5. If there is a gap belowthe gauge, the slope is too steep for safe
operation (SeeFigure 2 above).
To check the slope, proceedas follows:
1. Removethis page and fold alongthe dashed line.
2. Locatea vertical object on or behindthe slope (e.g. a pole,
building,fence, tree, etc.)
3.Align either side of the slope gauge withthe object (See Figure
1 and Figure2 ).
4. Adjustgauge upor down untilthe left cornertouches the slope
(SeeFigure 1 and Figure 2).
5. If there is a gap belowthe gauge, the slope is too steep for safe
operation(See Figure 2 above).

Slopes are a major factor related to tip-
over and roll-over accidents which can result in severe injury
or death. Do not operate machine on slopes in excess of 15
degrees.Alt slopes require extra caution. Always mow acrossthe
face of slopes, never mow upand down slopes.
