Using t he S MARTClock
The S MARTClock o perates i n t wo m odes: T ap T empo a nd P reset.
Tap T empo M ode
In T ap T empo M ode, t he e ncoder k nob f lashes b lue w hile t he c lock i s r unning.
FOOTSWITCH:
Tap the footswitch to set the clock rate. While tapping, the display shows TAP. Two seconds after
the l ast t ap, t he d isplay r everts t o s how t he t empo i n B eats P er M inute ( BPM.)
Hold t he f ootswitch t o s ave t he c urrent t empo t o t he l ast l oaded p reset.
ENCODER:
Turn t he e ncoder t o m anually s et t he c lock r ate.
Tap t he e ncoder t o s elect t he s ubdivisions m enu f or T empo O utputs A a nd B .
Hold t he e ncoder t o e nter P reset m ode.
Preset M ode
In P reset M ode, t he e ncoder k nob f lashes g reen w hile t he c lock i s r unning.
FOOTSWITCH:
Tap the footswitch to select the next preset. If the clock is currently stopped, tapping the footswitch
will r estart t he c lock a t t he l ast t empo.
Hold t he f ootswitch t o s top t he c lock.
ENCODER:
Turn t he e ncoder t o s elect a p reset. I f P ROG i s s et t o O N, s electing a p reset e ither b y f oot o r w ith t he
encoder w ill s end t he c orresponding M IDI p rogram c hange o n t he S MARTClock's M IDI c hannel.
Hold t he e ncoder t o e nter T ap T empo m ode.
If PROG is set to ON in the Setup Menu, the SMARTClock will send a MIDI program change message
on its MIDI Channel each time a preset is selected. The program change is one lower than the
indicated p reset: P 0 1 s ends P rogram C hange 0 0; P 04 s ends P rogram C hange 0 3, e tc.
