Configuring   t he   S MARTClock  
 
Hold  the  Enter  button  while  the  pedal  boots  to  access  the  SMARTClock  Setup  Menu.  Keep  the  Enter  
button   p ressed   u ntil   t he   d isplay   s crolls   S ETUP,   t hen   r elease.  
Turn   the   encoder   to   scroll   through   the   menu   options.     Press   the   Enter   button   to   edit   the   selected  
menu,   h old   t he   E nter   b utton   t o   s ave   a nd   e xit.  
 
CHAN:    
MIDI   C hannel   u sed   b y   t he   S MARTClock.  
 
The  SMARTClock  listens  for  incoming  program  changes  on  this  channel  to  save  and  
recall   B PM   p resets.  
 
MODE:  
TAP   –   t he   S MARTClock   w ill   s tart   u p   i n   T ap   T empo   m ode.  
 
PRST   –   t he   S MARTClock   w ill   s tart   u p   i n   P reset   m ode.  
 
TAPA:  
Configuration   f or   T empo   O utput   A .  
TAPB:  
Configuration   f or   T empo   O utput   B .  
 
No   –   t he   s elected   o utput   i s   " normally   o pen."  
 
Nc   –   t he   s elected   o utput   i s   " normally   c losed."     M ost   B OSS   d evices   r equire   N c.  
 
OFF   –   t he   s elected   o utput   w ill   b e   d isabled.  
 
MODA:  
Tap   T empo   s etup   f or   T empo   O utput   A .  
MODB:  
Tap   T empo   s etup   f or   T empo   O utput   B .  
 
Auto   –   T he   s elected   o utput   w ill   s end   t aps   c ontinuously   w hen   t he   c lock   i s   r unning.  
 
4TAP   –   The   selected   output   will   send   taps   when   the   clock   changes   rate.     If   a   new  
preset   i s   l oaded,   t he   s elected   o utput   w ill   s end   f our   t aps.     I f   a n   e xternal   M IDI   c lock   i s  
input,   b oth   o utputs   w ill   s end   t aps   c ontinuously   r egardless   o f   t his   s etting.  
 
PMAX:  
Highest  preset  available  in  Preset  mode.    The  SMARTClock  can  recall  a  maximum  of  
48  presets  in  Preset  mode,  or  up  to  128  if  an  external  MIDI  controller  is  connected.    
If   an   external   MIDI   controller   is   used   to   select   presets,   all   128   presets   will   be  
available   r egardless   o f   t his   s etting.  
 
PROG:  
If   set   to   ON,   the   SMARTClock   will   send   a   program   change   message   on   its   MIDI  
channel   e ach   t ime   a   p reset   i s   s elected.  
 
JACK:

nCLK   –   the   Multi   Jack   functions   as   an   additional   MIDI   output   but   does   not   send  
clock.      
 
RESO:    
Resolution   f or   m anual   t empo   e ntry.  
 
 
0.5   –   T empo   w ill   b e   e ntered   i n   h alf-­‐BPM   i ncrements   ( 120.0,   1 20.5,   1 21.0,   e tc.)  
 
 
 
1.0 –   T empo   w ill   b e   e ntered   i n   w hole-­‐BPM   i ncrements   ( 121.0,   1 22.0,   1 23.0,   e tc)  
Note  that  in  either  mode,  tapped  tempos  are  stored  with  MAXIMUM  precision  at  all  
times.     O nly   t he   B PM   d isplay   i s   r ounded   t o   t he   n earest   w hole   n umber.  
 
FACT:  
Factory   Reset.     Turn   the   encoder   until   RSET   is   displayed,   then   press   Enter   to  
perform   a   f actory   r eset.  
 
Hold   t he   E nter   b utton   t o   s ave   a nd   e xit   t he   S etup   M enu.  
Tapped   t empos   w ill   d isplay   u p   t o   0 .1   B PM   p recision  
Tapped   t empos   w ill   d isplay   a t   0 .1   B PM   p recision   b elow   1 00BPM   o nly
