1.4.2 Installing the CPU Heatsink and Fan The Intel® socket 479P Core Duo / Core Solo / Core 2 Duo CPU processor requires a specially designed heatsink and fan assembly to ensure optimum thermal condition and performance. 1.4.3 Uninstalling the CPU Heatsink and Fan Disconnect the CPU fan cable from the connector on the motherboard. Rotate each fastener counterclockwise. Pull up two fasteners at a time in a diagonal sequence to disengage the heatsink and fan assembly from the motherboard Carefully remove the heatsink and fan assembly from the motherboard.
