Measuring AC & DC Voltage
Voltage means the difference in electrical potential
between two points. The polarity of AC voltage varies
over time, while the polarity of DC is constant over time.
The meter displays AC voltage value as RMS (root
mean square) readings. The RMS value means the
equivalent dc voltage that can produce the same amount
of heat in a resistance as the measured sinewave
voltage.
How to measure: First, press , the voltage
measuring button, then selects AC or DC by
pressing . When measuring DC, place the red lead
on the "+" point, and the black lead on "-" point of the
circuit.
