Using this unit
1 Press M.C. to turn random play on or off.

Sound Retriever (sound retriever)
1 Press M.C. to select the desired setting.
1—2—OFF (off)
1 is effective for low compression rates, and 2
is effective for high compression rates.
Using connected device
applications
You can use this unit to perform streaming play-
back of and control tracks in iPhone or smart-
phone applications or just for streaming
playback.

user account or otherwise, and for certain ap-
plications, the provision of geolocation data.

for iPhone or smartphone on this unit.
For iPhone users
! This function is compatible with iPhone and
iPod touch.
! The device has iOS 5.0 or higher.
For smartphone users
! The device has Android OS 2.3 or later.
! The device supports Bluetooth SPP (Serial
Port Profile) and A2DP (Advanced Audio Dis-
tribution Profile).
The device is connected to this unit via
Bluetooth.
! Compatibility with all Android devices is not
guaranteed.

Starting procedure for iPhone users
1 Connect an iPhone to USB cable.
2 Select Wired in APP CONNECT MODE. For
details, refer to APP CONNECT MODE (APP
connect mode setting) on page 17.
If using DEH-X9650SD and DEH-X7650SD, pro-
ceed to the next step.
3 Switch the source to App.
4 Start up the application on the iPhone
and initiate playback.
Starting procedure for
smartphone users
Only for DEH-X9650BT and DEH-X8650BT
1 Connect your smartphone to this unit
using Bluetooth wireless technology. For de-
tails, refer to Connection menu operation on
page 11.
2 Select Bluetooth in APP CONNECT MODE.
For details, refer to APP CONNECT MODE
(APP connect mode setting) on page 17.
3 Switch the source to App.
4 Start up the application on the smart-
phone and initiate playback.
