Tips and advice

If you are unable to set the desired dosage,
make sure that there is enough insulin in the
insulin container. If you do not have enough
insulin left in your SoloStar you can choose
between:
- Taking the number of units of insulin that you
have in your current SoloStar and taking the
remaining dosage out of a new SoloStar, or
- Injecting the entire dosage with a new
SoloStar.
Holding down the button
Insulin may drip out of the needle for a bit after
you have pressed the injection button. You
must hold the button down for 10 seconds to
ensure that you receive your entire dosage.
Storage of your SoloSTAR
Always have an extra SoloStar in storage in
case you lose the one you are using or in case
it fails for some reason.
Before use
Store SoloStar in a refrigerator until you start
using it. When you take a new SoloStar from
the refrigerator, keep it in room temperature
for 1–2 hours before use as cold insulin is
painful to inject.
During use
After removing a SoloStar from the refrigera-
tor, the insulin can last for up to 28 days.
During this time you can store your SoloStar
at room temperature; however, not in tempe-
ratures higher than 25°C.
Do not store SoloStar where it can become
overheated. Protect SoloStar from sunlight.
After 28 days you must throw away your
SoloStar, even if there is insulin remaining.
Do not use SoloStar after the best-before-
date specified on the pen or cartridge.
If you need to clean the outside of your
SoloStar, wipe it with a damp cloth. Do not
soak or wash your SoloStar and avoid soap or
solvents.
