If the display on your White Rodgers 1F80-0471 thermostat is not working after changing the batteries, follow these steps:

1. Ensure Proper Battery Installation – Make sure the batteries are installed correctly, with the correct polarity (+ and - aligned properly).
2. Use Fresh Batteries – Replace the batteries with new AA alkaline batteries if the ones used might be weak or defective.
3. Reset the Thermostat – Remove the batteries, wait for a few minutes, and then reinsert them to reset the thermostat.
4. Check for Hardwired Power – If your thermostat is hardwired, confirm that system power is on. If the thermostat is system-powered, the battery icon should not be displayed.
5. Inspect for Loose Connections – Ensure the thermostat is securely mounted and properly connected to the wall plate.
6. Check Circuit Breaker – If the thermostat is hardwired, verify that the circuit breaker or fuse controlling the HVAC system is not tripped or blown.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, further troubleshooting or professional assistance may be needed.
