DRAIN PIPE INSTALLATION

Install the Condensation Drain Pipe

• Drain piping must slope downward or flow may reverse back to the unit
• During drain piping connection, be careful not to exert extra force on the drain port on the indoor unit
• The outside diameter of the drain connection on the indoor unit is 1-1/4 inch
• Piping material: Polyvinyl chloride; pipe inner diameter is 1 inch
• Be sure to install insulation on the drain piping
• Insulation material: Polyethylene foam greater than 5/16 inch thick
1. Refer to Figure 34 and plan the drain pipe routing so that the pipe will slope downward from the indoor unit to its end
drain location.
2. Connect the provided flexible drain pipe (hose) to the main drain pipe.
3. Pour water into the flexible pipe as shown in Figure 35 to test for leaks. Repair leaks if necessary.
4. Route the flexible drain pipe to the indoor unit and connect the flexible drain pipe to the drain port of the indoor unit.
5. Be sure to install field-supplied thermal insulation on the flexible drain pipe and position snugly against the indoor unit
as shown in Figure 37.
