Controlling the Indoor Unit
The method and configuration of controlling the indoor unit will vary according to your system's requirements.
• It is possible to control up to 16 indoor units with one wired remote controller
• Set only one indoor unit to Master, set the others to Slave
• This indoor unit can be connected in a control group with any other types of LG indoor units
• It is possible to use a wireless remote controller at the same time as the wall controller
• It is possible to connect a Dry Contact and Central controller at the same time (Master indoor unit only)
• A Central controller can control all indoor units in a group by controlling the master unit of the group
• Slave indoor units can not be individually controlled by the Central controller.
DIP Switch Settings
Refer to Figure 38. Set switch 3 of the indoor unit's DIP switch to Off if the unit is Master. Set switch 3 to On if the
unit is Slave. For use with Multi V systems, ceiling cassette DIP switches 1, 2, 6 and 7 MUST be set to Off.
Note:
• Switch 8 MUST be set to ON (Gen 4) for a Generation 4 indoor unit to function with Generation 4 features
• Generation 4 features also require Generation 4 outdoor units

Gen 2 data rate is 1.2kbps. Gen 4 data rate is 9.6kbps.
