Basic Zone Modes and Image Playback

This chapter explains how to shoot with the Scene
Intelligent Auto and Basic Zone modes and how to play
back images.
Basic Zone modes enable you to just point and shoot by
pressing the shutter button. However, you can also blur the
background (p.77), apply image effects (p.89), and suit the
lighting or scene (p.92).
About the Auto Lighting Optimizer
In Basic Zone modes, the Auto Lighting Optimizer (p.159) will
adjust the image automatically to obtain the optimum brightness
and contrast. It is also enabled by default in Creative Zone modes.
