rotor

spark plug

Lay
the
cap
on
the top of the distributor
and make
a
mark
on
the Side of the dIS
trIbutor
housmg
Just below the

spark
plug
term
mal Make
sure
that the
rotor
pomts toward that mark when
you
mstall the distrIbutor

When
the
dIstributor
shaft
has
reached the bottom of the hole
move
the
rotor
back and forth
slIghtly
until the
dnvmg lug
on
the end of the shaft
enters
the slots
cut
m
the end of the 011
pump
shaft and the dIstnbutor
assembly
slIdes
down
mto
place

When the dIstributor
IS
correctly

stalled the breaker pomts should be

a
posItion that
they
are
Just
ready
to
break
contact
With each other ThiS

rotatmg the distributor

has been mstalled

up
the marks
that
you
made before the distrIbutor
was
removed from the
engine

Install the distrIbutor hold down
bolt

Install the
spark
plug
mto
the
No 1
spark
plug
hole and
continue
from
Step
3
of the
precedmg
distributor mstallatlon
procedure

Alternator Precautions
To
prevent
damage
to
the alternator
and
regulator
the
followmg
precau
tionary
measures
must
be taken when
workmg

Never
reverse
battery
connections
