Notes on using a computer
• Playing HD (high definition) images recorded in the AVCHD
format on a computer
The supplied sofhvare application, "Picture Motion Browser;' may not always play HD (high
definition) images recorded in the AVCHD format properly. Even in a computer environment
which satisfies the system requirements, there may be noise on playback images, frames may
be dropped, or sound may be lost intermittently. (Imported images and images on discs created
subsequently will not be affected.)
• Installing the supplied "Picture Motion Browser" software
application (Windows 2000, Windows XP only)
The supplied "Picture Motion Browser" sofhvare application contains DVD writing sofhvare
and the Sonic UDF Reader* produced by SONIC SOLUTIONS. If you install "Picture Motion
Browser" on a computer that uses certain writing sofhvare, such as Roxio Easy CD Creator 5,
in its environment, the computer's performance may become unstable.
* Sonic UDP Reader will not be instaUed on Windows Vista-.

Notes on compatibility of AVCHD disc
This camcorder captures high definition footage in the AVCHD format. High definition footage can
be copied onto DVD media. However. DVD media containing AVCHD footage should not be used
with DVD based players or recorders, as the DVD player/recorder may fail to eject the media and
may erase its contents without warning. DVD media containing AVCHD footage may be played on
a compatible Blu-ray Disc- player/recorder or other compatible device.
Devices that can play the disc vary, depending on the image quality.
