Using the USB connectors

To use the USB connectors, connect a USB device to any of the four USB connectors on the dock with a
USB cable.
When the USB device is correctly connected to a USB connector on the dock, an information window will
be displayed in the Windows notification area, indicating that the USB device has been connected to the
computer.

Using the Gigabit Ethernet connector

To use the Gigabit Ethernet connector on the dock, connect the dock to a network using an Ethernet cable,
and wait until the dock is fully configured by the Windows operating system.
®
Note: The Gigabit Ethernet connector on the dock fully supports the ThinkVantage
Access Connections™
program.

Using the DisplayPort and DVI-I connectors

To use the DisplayPort connector, connect an external DisplayPort monitor to the dock using a DisplayPort
cable. To use the DVI-I connector, connect an external DVI-I monitor to the dock using a DVI-I cable. You
also can connect an external VGA monitor to the DVI-I connector through a DVI-I to VGA adapter.
Note: For better performance, occasionally adjust the external monitor to realign its settings with the video
output of the dock. For more information about the adjustment procedure, refer to the documentation
that comes with your external monitor.
