    General Warnings and Information WARNING TO PARENTS AND CAREGIVERS • Proper use is required. Your child’s safety depends on the proper installation and use of this Booster Car Seat. Read and understand all information in this owner’s manual and product labels before using this Booster Car Seat. • Improper use of the Booster Car Seat can result in death or serious injury from a sudden stop or crash.

  • Page 6 General Warnings and Information Your child’s safety depends on: 1. Choosing the best location within your vehicle for using the Booster Car Seat. Seating positions with frontal Air Bags must be avoided if possible. 2. Proper installation. a. Backless Booster Use Mode - Requires proper routing and adjusting fit of Vehicle Lap/Shoulder Belt. b. Always properly position the vehicle belts on your child and snugly adjust the vehicle belts around child.
  • Page 7 General Warnings and Information Booster Car Seat symbols: This Booster Car Seat MUST be used with a Vehicle Lap/Shoulder Belt. In this instruction manual, and on the Booster Car Seat labels, the symbol below is used to indicate Booster Use Mode with a Vehicle Lap/Shoulder Belt. NEVER use this Booster Car Seat with a Lap Belt ONLY to secure child.

    WARNINGS 2.0 Failure to follow these instructions and Booster Car Seat labels can result in child striking the vehicle’s interior during a sudden stop or crash. • Use this Booster Car Seat only with children who weigh between 18 and 45 kg (40 and 100 lbs.) and whose height is between 107 and 145 cm (42 and 57 in.) and who are capable of sitting upright unassisted. • Child must be at least 4 years old and 18 kg (40 lbs.) to use this Booster Car Seat. • Proper installation and securing of your child in the Booster Seat are essential to ensure the safety of your child. Your child can be injured in a sudden stop or crash if not properly secured in the Booster Car Seat or if the Booster Car Seat is not properly installed in the vehicle. • Use this Booster Car Seat forward-facing only with child facing the front of the vehicle. • Snugly adjust the Vehicle’s Lap/Shoulder Belt around child. • Properly position the Vehicle’s Lap/Shoulder Belt on child. Lap Belt MUST be low on child’s hips and contacting thighs and Shoulder Belt MUST be centered on shoulder.
  • Page 9 WARNINGS 2.0 • Use only the Vehicle’s Lap/Shoulder Belt system to restrain a child. • Never use a Lap Belt ONLY to secure child in the Booster Car Seat. • Never leave your child unattended, even for a moment. • Never put a Booster Car Seat in a vehicle front seat location unless specifically recommended in vehicle’s owner’s manual. • Never use this Booster Car Seat in a vehicle seating location that has an Active Air Bag unless recommended in the vehicle’s owner’s manual. If your vehicle is equipped with a front passenger side Active Air Bag, please refer to the vehicle’s owner’s manual for additional information about Active Air Bags and child safety seat installation. • The vehicle back seat is the safest place for children 12 and under. • Securely belt this Car Seat in vehicle, even when not occupied. An unsecured Car Seat can injure other occupants in a crash.
  • Page 10 WARNINGS 2.0 • This Booster Car Seat is designed and tested to accommodate a c hild of a specific range of WEIGHT and HEIGHT. Using the Booster Car Seat for a child whose weight or height is outside of these limits will increase the risk of death or serious injury in the event of a crash (see Section 6.0 of this manual for WEIGHT and HEIGHT recommendations for this Booster Car Seat). • DO NOT dress your child in bulky clothing or other garments that will hinder vehicle belts being snugly adjusted around your child. • Not all vehicle seat belts or seating locations can be used with this Booster Car Seat. Read vehicle’s owner’s manual and “Vehicle Seat Belts” section in this manual. • Some vehicles do not have any safe location to use this Booster Car Seat. In addition, many vehicles do not have seat belt systems that will adequately hold this Booster Car Seat in the required position. Please refer to both this manual and your vehicle’s owner’s manual for complete information for proper, safe use of this Booster Car Seat. • This Booster Car Seat is certified for use in motor vehicles and NOT certified for use on aircraft. DO NOT use this Booster Car Seat in the home, on boats or other non-certified applications. • DO NOT use accessories or parts other than those specifically provided for this model. Use of accessories or parts from other manufacturers could alter the performance and safety of the Booster Car Seat.
  • Page 11 WARNINGS 2.0 • The Booster Car Seat may become very hot if left in direct sunlight. Your child may suffer burns from hot components. Always check the Booster Car Seat for hot surfaces that may come into contact with your child before placing your child in the Booster Car Seat. We suggest that you cover the Booster Car Seat with a blanket or towel if it will be subject to direct sunlight while you are away from the vehicle. • This Booster Car Seat is constructed of plastic that can deform over time if left with any object in the seat while stored. DO NOT leave heavy objects in the Booster Car Seat while not in use. DO NOT store the seat in the trunk of your car with heavy objects on it or with pressure on the Booster Car Seat from the trunk lid. • Discontinue use of the Booster Car Seat 10 years after the date of manufacture printed on the label on the bottom of the Seat Base. • DO NOT use Booster Car Seat if it has been in a crash, it must be replaced. A crash can cause unseen damage and using it again could result in serious injury or death. • DO NOT use Booster Car Seat if it is damaged or is missing parts. No Booster Car Seat can guarantee protection from injury in every situation, but proper use helps reduce the risk of serious injury or death.

    Preparing Booster Car Seat for Use The steps to prepare the Booster Car Seat for use with your child are outlined below and described in detail in this owner’s manual. Select a Vehicle Seating Location to Install the Booster Car Seat • Select a vehicle seating location with a Vehicle Lap/Shoulder Belt. • Never use a vehicle seating location with a Vehicle Lap Belt ONLY. This child restraint is designed for use only by children who are at least 4 years old, can sit upright unassisted, who weigh between 18 and 45 kg (40 and 100 lbs.) and whose height is between 107 and 145 cm (42 and 57 inches).

    Weight and Height Recommendations Backless Booster Car Seat Use Child MUST meet all of the following requirements to use the Backless Booster Car Seat mode: • Child must be at least 4 years of age and • Child’s weight is between 18 and 45 kg (40 a nd 100 lbs.) • Child’s height is between 107 and 145 cm (42 and 57 in.) and • Top of child’s ears must be below top of vehicle seat back or vehicle headrest. Pediatricians recommend using a Backless Booster Car Seat until the child reaches a standing height of 145 cm (57 in.) before changing to secure the child with a vehicle seat belt, without a Booster Car Seat.

    Selecting a Vehicle Seating Location WARNING! • There are many different types of vehicles, vehicle seat belt systems, or other occupant restraint systems in use today. Accordingly, this manual can only give guidelines for proper use of the Vehicle Lap/Shoulder Belt in your vehicle. In addition to this manual, you must also read and understand the vehicle’s owner’s manual, which should address use of Booster Car Seat. If your vehicle’s owner’s manual does not address the installation of Booster Car Seat, please contact your local vehicle dealer, or the vehicle’s manufacturer to obtain this information before using this Booster Car Seat. Not every seating location within a vehicle may be safe for use of this Booster Car Seat. In fact, some vehicles have no seating location that is safe for the use of a Booster Car Seat. Improper placement of this Booster Car Seat within a vehicle will increase the risk of death or serious injury in a sudden stop or crash.

    Selecting a Vehicle Seating Location 7.1 Overall Considerations for Selecting a Seating Location: • Please review your vehicle’s owner’s manual to determine the best location for Booster Car Seat use, any specific instructions for Booster Car Seat installation, or to determine if any locations are unsafe for Booster Car Seat use. If you do not have the vehicle’s owner’s manual or the owner’s manual does not address child Booster Car Seat use, please contact the vehicle manufacturer to obtain this information before using the Booster Car Seat.

    Selecting a Vehicle Seating Location Seating Locations to Avoid DO NOT use this Booster Car Seat in the following seating locations. • Never use this Booster Car Seat in a vehicle seating location that has an Active Air Bag unless recommended in the vehicle’s owner’s manual. If your vehicle is equipped with a front passenger Air Bag, please refer to the vehicle’s owner’s manual for additional information about Air Bags and child safety seat installation.

DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY can occur: • Child must be at least 4 years old and weigh at least 18 kg (40 lbs.) to use this Booster Car Seat. • Use only the Vehicle’s Lap/Shoulder Belt system when r estraining the child in this Booster Car Seat. • Never use the Booster C ar Seat with a Vehicle Lap Belt ONLY across front of child. Using a Booster Car Seat with a Vehicle Lap Belt ONLY could result in serious injury or death. • Snugly adjust the Lap/Shoulder Belt around child according to the instructions in the vehicle’s owner’s manual. - Shoulder Belt must be properly positioned over shoulder (NOT touching child’s neck and NOT off shoulder). - Vehicle Lap Belt must be positioned low on the hips, contacting the thighs. - Never use Shoulder Belt loose, positioned under child’s arm, or behind child.

Use Vehicle Shoulder Belt Positioner to center Vehicle Shoulder Belt on child’s shoulders. • If child will not keep Vehicle Shoulder Belt properly positioned on shoulder, DO NOT use this Booster Car Seat. Use a different child restraint system. • Discontinue use of the Booster Car Seat when the top of the child’s ears are above top of the vehicle seat back or vehicle headrest. • Securely belt this booster Seat in vehicle, not occupied. The vehicle seat belt must be capable of being positioned properly and snugly adjusted on child at all times. A variety of vehicles have been equipped with vehicle seat belt systems that are not safe for use with the Booster Car Seat.
