Hard disk 0 is the parameter that denotes the first (or only) fixed disk drive of your system, and Hard disk 1 is the parameter that denotes the second, if one exists, fixed disk drive of your system.

The system and video BIOS (if system is provided with on-board video controller) are stored in a Flash RAM, thus the BIOS is field upgradable with a floppy.
