N.A. Extend lead 21 using 2.5mm or larger insulated wire physically
suitable for the installation. An S16586-[ ] remote voltage sensing
work lead is available for this purpose. Connect it directly to the
work piece keeping it electrically separate from the welding work
lead circuit and connection. (For convenience this extended #21
lead should be taped to the welding work lead). This extended #21
lead connection replaces the need to employ the remote work lead
accessory on machines which have a direct work lead jack. An LN7
or LN8 or LN21 not equipped with a meter kit does not require lead
21 to be extended.
N.B. The jumpers on the LN9 voltage board and start board (used on
later models) must be connected as follows:- for Innershield and
other open arc processes: voltage board - connect white jumper to
pin "F" (blue jumper on earlier models). On LN9 models with start
boards - connect blue jumper to pin "A". For submerged arc:-
voltage board - connect white jumper to pin "S" (blue jumper on
earlier models). On LN9 models with start boards connect blue
jumper to pin "A". Refer to operating manual.
N.C. If using an older LN9 control cable:- connect lead #76 to #75 on
terminal strip, connect leads #75 and #77 to #76 on terminal strip.
N.D. Connect the control cable earth lead to the frame terminal marked
on the power source terminal strip or to an unpainted frame screw.
N.E. If using an older LN8 control cable:- connect lead #76 to 76 on
terminal strip. Connect lead #77 to #75 on terminal strip and tape
up lead #75.
N.F. Welding cables must be of proper capacity for the current and the
duty cycle of immediate and future applications. See LN23P
instruction manual.
N.G. If only one LN23P is used, connect to feeder "A" terminal strip in
adaptor. If the low voltage option is installed connect a jumper from
2A to 2B on SAM terminal strip.
N.H. Connection "A" to 77, B" to 76, C" to 75 differs from that required on
other Lincoln power sources.
N.J. Remove SAM portable field control and connect wire feeder control
cable.
N.K. Insulate with tape wrapping.
N.L. Insulate 75, 76 and 77 (separately from each other).
LN23P
1. Set controls as follows:-
A. The toggle switch for "Constant Voltage".
B. The Electrode Polarity switch to "Negative Constant Voltage".
C. The Constant Voltage Control to the position that gives the
required range of control at the LN23P units.
2. If the Low Voltage Option is installed, feeder "A" will only operate
when the selector switch is in the low position (13V - 20V) and feeder
"B" will only operate when the selector switch is in the high position
(16V - max).
