4) General installation guidelines:
As model specifications may vary or change, it may
be necessary to locate the components differently to those shown previously. Should this be
necessary, it is important to be aware of the following general guidelines:
- Do not locate the control unit in any metallic surround as this may shield the Bluetooth
communication
- Chose a location for the control unit which is away from any direct source of extreme heat
or moisture.
- Do not mount any other transmitting/recieving device (Eg. Off-board navigation unit,
tracking system etc) close to the control unit
- The control button should be mounted within easy reach of the drivers position.
- Take extreme care when drilling locating hole for the switch, check there is sufficient depth
for the switch unit, ensure the drilling process will not foul and damage other equipment.
- Ensure the microphone is as close as poosible to, and is pointing directly at, the driver.
- When using the adhesive velcro patch or adhesive pad, ensure the contact surfaces are
cleaned and dry.
5) Reassembly & Reconnecting the battery:
Once all the components have been connected, tidy up any excess wiring and secure with
cable ties where necessary. Reassemble all the trim panels and vehicle components and
reconnect the battery following normal reconnection procedures.
6) Pairing the phone:
Before the Bluetooth system will function, it will need to be paired to the customers phone.
