Replacing the Heat Sink

WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety

CAUTION: Incorrect alignment of the heat sink can cause damage to
the system board and processor.
NOTE: The original thermal grease can be reused if the original system
board and fan are reinstalled together. If either the system board or the
fan is replaced, use the thermal pad provided in the kit to make sure that
thermal conductivity is achieved.

Procedure

1
Align the screw holes on the heat sink with the screw holes on the
system board.
2
Tighten the captive screws that secure the heat sink to the system board.

Post-requisites

Follow the instructions from step 4 to step 13 in "Replacing the
Board".

Replace the

Follow the instructions from step 3 to step 5 in "Replacing the
Cover".
