EUROGRAND EG8180
1.
Assembling the EG8180
General safety remarks
The EG8180 must be assembled before use. A Phillips screwdriver
(+) and a wrench with a 3/4" (19 mm) hexagon socket are required
to assemble the parts.
The piano should be assembled by at least two persons
+
to avoid injury, due to its weight and bulky parts.
+
Do not remove the foil which covers the piano, otherwise
the lid and the key cover might open unintentionally dur-
ing assembly, causing damage to the unit and injury.
During assembly, make sure you use the correct parts
+
and screws and assemble them in the correct order.
Use only screws that came with the unit for assembly,
+
otherwise the parts might get damaged.
+
To disassemble the unit, follow the steps in reverse
order.
Fig. 1.1 shows the designations of the small parts supplied which
are required for assembling the digital piano.

Small parts overview
The small parts are numbered consecutively (S1-S5). These num-
bers can be found both in the illustrations below as well as in the
text, so that you know which screw is needed for which hole.
The illustration below identifies each part and shows how to as-
semble the piano.

Process of assembly
Be careful not to hurt yourself during assembly by
+
accidentally dropping the unit or getting your fingers
caught between key cover, lid and console.
If you have removed the plastic foil by mistake, be sure
+
to seal the lid and key cover with a piece of adhesive
tape to prevent the elements from opening unintention-
ally during assembly.
1)
Place the console
poly-styrene foam, near a wall with the front facing towards
the floor and the lid facing towards the wall, as shown in
Fig. 2.1.

over during assembly.
2)
Attach a washer to each of the eight bolts (S2), if not already
attached, and fix the three piano legs {2}, each with two
bolts (S2) locking the premounted nuts at the recessed
positions of the console.

3)
Hold the pedal board
facing towards the floor. Tighten the board with two bolts
(S2) locking the premounted nuts at the recessed positions
of the console as shown in Fig. 2.3.
4)
Attach the supportive metal bars to each side of the pedal
board by using two screws (S1) on each side. Push the bars
to the bottom of the console until they lean firmly against the
bottom, without pressing them down too far. Make sure that
the bars are aligned in parallel and fasten the bars, each
