RULES FOR SAFE INSTALLATION AND OPERATION

Read these rules and the instructions carefully. Failure to follow them
could void your warranty and cause property damage.
Check your local codes to make sure your installation complies.
Protect the cartridge filter and piping against freezing temperatures.
Failure to do so could cause severe damage not only to the unit, but to
property as well.
Filter is designed for cold-water use only. Do not use to filter hot water.

During   i nitial   u se,   w ater   a nd   a irbursts   w ill   c ome   o ut   o f   t he   f aucet   u ntil   t he  
filter   c ompletely   f ills.     F or   b est   r esults,   a fter   s everal   h ours   o f   n on-­‐ u se,   f lush   t he  
filter   f or   a t   l east   1 0   t o   1 5   s econds   b efore   u sing   w ater   f rom   t he   f ilter.   I f   f ilter   i s  
unused   f or   m ore   t han   3   d ays,   t hen   f lush   t he   f ilter   f or   1   m inute   b efore   u sing.

Water   f low   m ay   b e   s low   i nitially,   b ut   w ill   i ncrease   o ver   2 4-­‐ 4 8   h ours   a s   t he   f ilter  
elements   b ecome   c onditioned.   O ver   t ime,   b ecause   a ll   w ater   s upplies   c ontain  
dirt   a nd   t urbidity,   t he   f ilter   c artridge   w ill   b ecome   p rogressively   c logged   a nd  
water   f low   w ill   g radually   b e   r educed.   T o   r estore   f low   o f   w ater,   i t   i s   n ecessary  
to   r eplace   a ll   c artridges.   C artridge   m ust   b e   r eplaced   a fter   o ne   y ear   o r   1 ,250  
gallons   o f   u se.
