INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

BEFORE INSTALLATION
OR
Turn off power source. Review all safety precautions.
PLEASE NOTE:
• If installing Iso in a location that can be accessed from above
the installation location via attic or crawl space, follow the
"New Construction" instructions.
• If installing Iso in a location that CANNOT be accessed
from above the installation location – follow the "Existing
Construction" instructions.
It is required to have an exhaust duct that leads outside and not
into the ceiling or attic as this could cause water damage.
The ventilation fan is UL approved for use over a bathtub or
shower when installed in a GFCI protected circuit. Do not use
fans over a bathtub or shower that are not approved for that
application and marked accordingly.
PLEASE NOTE: the fan is to be installed at least 5 feet
(1.5 meters) above floor level.
WARNING – TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, ELECTRIC
SHOCK, OR INJURY TO PERSONS, OBSERVE THE
FOLLOWING:
• Installation work and electrical wiring must be done by qualified
person(s) in accordance with all applicable codes and standards,
including fire-rated construction.
• Sufficient air is needed for proper combustion and exhausting
of gases through the flue (chimney) of fuel burning equipment
to prevent back drafting. Follow the heating equipment
manufacturer's guideline and safety standards such as those
published by the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA),
and the American Society for Heating, Refrigeration and Air
Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE), and the local code authorities.
• When cutting or drilling into wall or ceiling, do not damage
electrical wiring and other hidden utilities.
• Ducted fans must always be vented to the outdoors.
• If this unit is to be installed over a tub or shower, it must be marked
as appropriate for the application and be connected to a GFCI
(Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) – protected branch circuit.

NEW CONSTRUCTION

1 Using a drywall saw, cut a 10.0" x 10.0" (25.4 cm x 25.4 cm)
opening in the ceiling for the panel.
a) Make sure the hole you cut is between two (2) studs –
this can be done using a stud finder.
2 Insert the suspension brackets into the fan body – there are
3 suspension brackets provided:
• Suspension bracket I attaches to the rail on the side
of the unit.
• Suspension bracket II will slide into suspension bracket I.
Make sure they slide freely with no obstruction.
• Suspension bracket III attaches to the other side of the unit
where the exhaust port is.
NOTE: If the ceiling joists are less than 14" (35.6 cm) apart,
the suspension brackets need to be shortened with a dremel
or angle grinder before inserting into unit.
