  • Page 3 ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY ACTIVE ADVANCED SAFETY (Accident Avoidance) • Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS): Monitors both broken and solid lanes on the highway using a camera mounted near the interior mirror; at speeds above 43 mph, LDWS alerts the driver when the vehicle leaves the lane without using the turn signal by “shaking” the seatbelt and providing an audio and visual warning: – Bad weather and skid marks on the road may cause a false indicator.     ADVANCED SAFETY TECHNOLOGY ACTIVE ADVANCED SAFETY (Accident Avoidance) • 4-wheel disc brakes: 4-sensor, 4-channel Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), provides the ability to brake and steer, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) keeps the braking smooth and level, and Brake Assist monitors brake pedal pressure. • Electronic Stability Control (ESC) keeps the vehicle on the intended path. • Traction Control System (TCS) helps maintains traction, when needed. • Electro-Hydraulic Power Steering (EHPS): Uses an electric motor to drive the pump so there is less drag on the engine. • High-Intensity Discharge (HID) headlights: With LED turn signal indicators; more effectively illuminate the road at night; includes Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFLS) with auto-leveling and automatic headlights—lights AFLS point into a turn using steering High beam angle sensors for added illumination of the road.

PASSIVE ADVANCED SAFETY (In Case of Accident) • Nine airbags: Advanced dual front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side- impact airbags, driver knee airbag, and roof-mounted side-curtain airbags • Electronic active front head restraints with power controls: Activate electronically to protect against neck injury; when the seat slides forward or rearward, the height of the headrest automatically adjusts, increasing both comfort and stability in a rear impact.

  • Page 9 EQUUS FUNCTIONALITY PROXIMITY KEY—Different Ways to Unlock and Access Press once: Lock. Press twice: Outside mirrors fold in. Press once: Unlock driver’s door. Press twice: Unlock all doors and unfold mirrors. Press and hold to unlock trunk. Press and hold for panic; press any button to turn off panic. Press to remove Mechanical key can be used on the driver’s door, mechanical key. trunk and valet lockout. When you push the unlock button on Proximity Key fob, it activates approach lights that are located under the outside mirrors; when doors are opened, entry lights (puddle lamps) also add illumination to aid driver and passen- gers when entering or exiting the vehicle.     TRUNK OPERATION There are four ways to unlock the trunk on Equus: 1. Use the manual key. 2. Touchpad: Press to open; Proximity Key needs to be within range. 3. Press and hold the button on the key fob. 4. Press the release button in the vehicle. Manual key 2-position camera Touchpad (manual and power trunk) The valet trunk lockout button is used to prevent unauthorized access to the trunk. To activate the valet lockout system: 1. Open the glove box. 2. Press the trunk lock button in for complete trunk remote functions, with the button out it cancels these functions. The trunk can only be opened with the mechanical key for safety in valet situations. 3. Remove the mechanical key from the Proximity Key. 4. Close and lock the glove box with the mechanical key.   • Page 12 TRUNK OPERATION—ULTIMATE Equus Ultimate has two additional trunk features: a power trunk and power trunk lock. There are three ways to activate the power trunk opener: 1. Press Proximity Key TRUNK button. 2. Power trunk main control button in the vehicle: Press to open, press and hold to close. 3. Use the touchpad button on the read deck lid. 2013MY shown Power trunk close button: Power trunk lock button: Press to close. Press to close the trunk and lock all doors and trunk; sets the alarm system. The Proximity Key needs to be within range.
