MAINTENANCE
Your safety depends on your use of marine parts. When
servicing the electrical, ignition and fuel systems, it is
extremely important that all components are properly
installed and tightened. If not, any electrical or ignition
component could permit sparks to ignite fuel vapors from
fuel system leaks, if they existed.
Since marine engines are expected to operate at near
full-throttle for most of their life, and to operate in fresh
!
and salt water environments, many special parts and
fasteners are used which are quite different from stan-
dard automotive parts. Many parts are made from spe-
cial corrosion resistant materials while other moving
parts are heavy-duty for continuous, high RPM duty. If
you perform minor service procedures, make sure to use
genuine Indmar parts for marine use.
