Acquiring positioning information
(GPS) (PXW-X180 only)

Press the MENU button during standby.
2.
Set "GPS" of the System menu to "On."

• The icon that is displayed on the screen changes
depending on the reception status of the signals from
the satellite.

• In the default setting, "GPS" is set to "On."
When "GPS" is set to "On," location
information and positioning time of the video
that is recorded are also recorded. To record
positioning information, set "GPS" to "On."
• It may take time to start positioning after
turning the camcorder on.
• If the icon does not indicate the positioning
status after several minutes, the GPS signal
reception status is poor. Move to a place with a
clear view of the sky. If recording starts in that
