Result too high / too low
Check if the total variation has been modified (see page 13). Default setting is : 0.0
The thermometer can compensate for temperature differences due to changes in environment. Leave the thermometer in
the ambient temperature for at least 15 minutes before use, to allow auto recalibration of the device.
"Hi" is displayed on the screen (above 42.9°C (109.3°F))
The temperature reading is above the measurement range for the selected mode, over 42.9°C in BODY mode, 120°C in
SURFACE mode, or 100°C in ROOM mode.
"Lo" is displayed on the screen (result obtained is below 32.9°C or 89.6°F)
The temperature reading is below the measurement range for the selected mode: 32.9°C for BODY mode or 0°C in
SURFACE / ROOM mode
Cause of Lo Message
Temperature reading affected by hair, perspiration
etc.
Temperature reading affected by a draft.
Temperature readings too close together, the
thermometer did not have the chance to reset itself.
The measurement distance too far.

Make sure that the forehead is clear before taking a
temperature reading.
Make sure there are no drafts as this could interfere with the
infrared system.
Wait at least 15 seconds between readings – a 1 minute pause
is advised.
Ensure you use the device at a suitable distance (between 5
and 10 cm)
