System Architecture

Yoga Smart Home has a
1. Cloud server
2. Smart Home Gateway
3. I/O and other controller gateways
4. I/O controllers
5. Peripheral devices
All Smart Home Gateways from homes and other type of buildings are connecting to a scalable Yoga Smart
Home cloud server (called Magic), which takes care of real time communication, logging, video storage etc.
Yoga offers a scalable cloud service by itself or depending on the region through service providers.
Start using the service
When a customer has bought the devices, the service needs to be activated. There are basically two ways for
service activation:
customer signs the agreement with service provider and the service is activated
customer goes to a smart home web portal (URL provided to customer while purchasing devices), cus-
tomer activates the service and customer is charged by third party billing system à la Paypal.
When the service is activated, the user goes to a web portal and steps through a setup wizard.
Registering a Smart Home Gateway to a cloud server
All Smart Home Gateways are manufactured with the same firmware (i.e. it doesn't have a service provider spe-
cific data like for example cloud server IP addresses etc). The Smart Home Gateway has to go through a regis-
tration procedure.
While going through the setup wizard steps, a user enters the Smart Home Gateway's activation code, and in
the background Magic server requests this Smart Home Gateway's ownership from Yoga's global Dispatcher
service.
