Using a LaserBarcode Scanner (Sold Separately)

To transmit signals using the optional LaserBarcode Scanner
(UC-V108BC) in the wired mode, connect the scanner to
the player's front-panel EXT.CONT jack.
To transmit barcodes in the wireless mode, use the remote control
(refer to the LaserBarcode Scanner Operating Instructions for
full instructions).

Note
While using the LaserBarcode Scanner, sending commands to
the player (through the remote control, buttons on the player, or
serial commands from a computer) may cause unit lock-ups
and malfunctions. To avoid accidental commands being sent
to the player, the remote control is disabled while the Laser
Barcode Scanner is in the wired mode. Thus, it is best
to set up the system in the wired mode when using a Laser
Barcode Scanner.
When the player is operated via barcodes, the on-screen displays
are hidden.
When a CD, Video CD or CDV disc is loaded, barcode commands
issued for LD or DVD are ignored.
When a DVD is loaded, commands issued for CDs are ignored.
