The following problems are generally caused by
improper transceiver operation or connection, not by
defective components.
Symptom
Indicators do not light and no
receiver noise is heard when the
POWER switch is turned on.
No sound from the speaker.
No signal can be received.
No control works.
Memory channel cannot be
recalled.
Memory cannot be backed up.

TROUBLESHOOTING

If you experience any of these problem causes and
corrective actions before requesting service.
Probable Cause
1. Low voltage.
2. With optional DC cable:
1) Bad power cable or
connections.
2) Blown power supply fuse.
1. Squelch is closed.
2. With the TSU-7: CTCSS is
operating.
3. DTSS is operating.
4. Paging is operating.
1. LOCK is ON.
2. T.ALT is ON.
Nothing is stored in the memory
channel.
1. Battery voltage is low.
2. Battery case removed.
Corrective Action
1. Recharge/ replace the battery.
2.
1) Check cables and connections.
2) Check for the cause of the
blown fuse and replace the fuse.
1. Turn the SQL control
counterclockwise.
2. Press the F key, then press the 3
key to turn off the CTCSS.
3. Press the F key, then press the 2
key to turn off the DTSS.
4. Press the F key, then press the 1
key to turn off the Paging.
1. Press the F key, then press the M
key.
2. Press the F key, then press the 5
key.

1. Recharge the battery.
2. Install the Battery case.
