Removal of Front Grille The Front Grille is fixed to the cabinet with dowels at 6 locations. As a screwdriver (for slotted head screw) is used for removal, use special care not to cause damage to the cabinet.
  • Page 20 DVR-S150/NX-P150 When checking the P.C.B.: Turn on the power to NX-SW150 according to the following procedure. a. Short between the terminals of RY2 (relay). b. Connect the power cable to the AC power outlet. Short Short between these terminals for the P.C.B. check.
  • Page 21 DVR-S150/NX-P150 DVR-S150 TRAY LOCK MODE This unit has a "Tray Lock" mode. This function prevents the tray from opening even when the " " (open/close) key is pressed. Setting Tray Lock mode Start with the power of the unit turned off.
  • Page 22 DVR-S150/NX-P150 DVR-S150 SELF DIAGNOSIS FUNCTION (DIAG) This product has a built-in self diagnosis function (DIAG) to facilitate inspection, measurement and determination of a faulty item, if any. There are 16 DIAG menu items, each having sub-menu items. Listed in the table below are menu items and sub-menu items.

  • Page 31 DVR-S150/NX-P150 4. PRO LOGIC The L/C/R/RL/RR signals undergo the Pro-Logic process- ing and C/RL/RR signals are output through Sub DSP-DRAM. Main DSP is selected for MAIN L/R output. Using the sub-menu, it is possible to select PRO LOGIC I, II (Movie).
  • Page 32 DVR-S150/NX-P150 5. SPEAKERS SET The input signal is automatically identified and switched in the priority order of dts →DOLBY DIGITAL → AAC → PCM AUDIO → Analog (A/D) according to the signal detection. The signals output from the DSP block are the same as 1.
  • Page 33 DVR-S150/NX-P150 6. MIC CHECK The signals inputted through the microphone are output via A/D-D/A. The input signal level is displayed in every few seconds. (0 dB to -90 dB) MIC CHK 7. DISPLAY CHECK This program is used to check the FL display section. The display condition varies as shown below according to the sub-menu operation.

Next, the operation of the FL driver is checked by using the dimmer control. Then a short between segments next to each other is checked by turning ON and OFF all segments alternately (in lattice).
  • Page 35 DVR-S150/NX-P150 9. FACTORY PRESET This menu is used to reserve and inhibit initialization of the back-up RAM. The signals are processed using EFFECT OFF. (The L/R signal is output using ANALOG MAIN BY- PASS.) PRESET INHIBIT (Initialization inhibited) / RAM initialization is not executed. Select this sub-menu to protect the values set by the user.
  • Page 36 DVR-S150/NX-P150 10. AD DATA CHECK/FAN TEST This menu is used to display the A/D conversion value of the terminals which detect the panel keys of the main unit and protection functions in % using the sub-menu. During signal processing, the condition before execution is maintained.

  • Page 40 DVR-S150/NX-P150 12. DSP RAM CHECK This menu is used to self-diagnose whether or not the bus connection for the YSS930 and the external RAM is made properly. During signal processing, the status before execution of this menu is maintained. The address bus and the data bus are checked and the con- nection condition is displayed.
  • Page 41 DVR-S150/NX-P150 14. SOFT SW This menu is used to confirm the function settings on P.C.B.. SW MODE: PCB or SOFT can be confirmed. MODEL SETTING: MODEL: S150 TUNER DESTINATION: J, UC, ATKBG or RL can be confirmed. DEST : TUNER: NOT or EXIST can be confirmed.
  • Page 42 DVR-S150/NX-P150 15. MICROPROCESSOR INFORMATION The version, checksum and the port specified by the micro- processor are displayed. The signal is processed using EF- FECT OFF. The checksum is obtained by adding the data at every 8 bits for each program area and expressing the result as a 4-figure hexadecimal data.
