Attach the bracket to the two T-bar clips, then secure each with a second nut.

Connect the Ethernet cable to the AP Ethernet port.
5.
Position the AP against the bracket so that its feet are next to the retention tabs.
6.
Slide the AP so that the feet are held in place by the retention tabs.
7.
Using the retention screw, secure the AP to the bracket. Optionally, you also can use a cable
lock.
8.
Verify that the AP is firmly anchored before letting go of it.

Antenna position

The antenna flaps can be adjusted to optimize radio performance. Start with the following positions,
then adjust as needed. (See also the MSM422 Antenna Technical Note available with the other
online documentation.)
For wall mount, close or fully open the flaps.
For ceiling mount, close the flaps or point them toward the floor (90°).

Powering the AP

The AP can be powered by:
A 10/100 or 10/100/1000 PoE-enabled switch. PoE-enabled switches are available from
HP.
An HP 1-Port Power Injector (J9407A).
An HP AP Power Supply (J9406A).
CAUTION:
gigabit-compatible power injector. PoE injectors designed only for 10/100 networks are NOT
compatible with the AP.
If the AP will be powered by a user-supplied PoE power injector, use only a
