    N14105_10-04.qxd 10/14/2004 8:10 AM Page 2 Mounting the Antenna The antenna uses 2 powerful magnets to secure the antenna itself to a metal surface. The antenna’s ‘tail’ protects the exposed portion of the antenna cable from the elements. The tail has an adhesive strip that (once cured) will firmly adhere it to the vehicle.

Remove the Red backing from the adhesive strip, place the antenna housing in the location you have selected and firmly adhere the tail to the vehicle. At room temperature, maximum adhesion usually occurs within 72 hours. During this period, car washes and other contact with the antenna and tail should be avoided.

Take advantage of any existing cable channels or wiring conduits. • For SUVs, minivans and 5-door vehicles, bring the cable into the vehicle under the rubber molding from the tailgate, and continue under the interior trim.

Use alcohol and a clean soft cloth to remove any remaining adhesive.
