1.
STOP! Read the safety information
above on this label.
2. Turn gas control knob fully counterclockwise
to "OFF". SEE FIGURE 'A'.
3. Remove the outer burner door located below
the gas control.
4. Wait five (5) minutes to clear out any gas. If you
then smell gas, J_kSTOP!
Follow "B" in the
safetyintormatfen_J_f_ above on this label, if
youdon_ smellgas,_
go to next step.
5. This unit isequippedwith a push button pilotignitor,
which is used to light the pilot. Locate the ignitor
on the gas control.
6. Turn gas controm knob cmockwise
Gto "PILOT". SEE FIGURE 'B'.
7. The pilotisIocafedon the right s ideof the burner, it
can be located by mooking throughthe glassview pert
whime p ressingthepiezoignitor b uttonseveraltimes.
Lookfor a sparkat the pilotlocation, Figure'D'.
8. Oncethe pilothasbeenfound,pushthegas control
knoballthewayin (toward thewater heater.) Immediatley
pressthe piezoignitorbutton rapidly(4) or(5) times.
ffthe pilotwill notlight,repeatedsteps(2)through(8).

remainlit.if it goesout, repeatsteps(2) through(8).

before the pilot willlight.
• if the pilot will not stay litafter several tries,
turn me gas oonirol knob oount_se
to"OFF" and call your service technician or gas
supplier. SEE FIGURE 'A'.
10. Once the pilot flame isestablished replace the
outer burner door.
11. At arm's length away, turn gas control
knob clockwise G to desired temperaturesetting.
SEE FIGURE 'C'.
